About the Attorney

Megan Rose

About Megan

Megan Rose is an attorney licensed in Kansas and Missouri and has been trained as a mediator.  She is the Programming Co-Chair of the Metropolitan Adoption Council of Greater Kansas City. She has participated in the Volunteer Attorney Project through Legal Aid of Western Missouri since 2017.  In her free time, Megan loves spending time with her husband and dogs, rock climbing (inside), and sewing.

She got her start in the legal field as a legal secretary for John P. Hastings, where she learned the nuts and bolts of estate planning, probate, and client care. After a few months on the job, she decided to go to law school while continuing to work as a paralegal.

While a student at the University of Kansas School of Law, Megan served as a legal intern at the Douglas County Legal Aid Society, serving children and adults in municipal and county court under an attorney’s supervision. She was trained in trauma-informed counseling techniques and received the Mary Anne Chambers Service Award for “dedication to professionalism while representing the disadvantaged and devotion to the community through public service.”

Megan was also a Publications Editor for the Kansas Journal of Law and Public Policy. She reviewed submitted articles and worked closely with selected authors to edit their work for publication. During her first law school summer, she clerked for the Honorable Rebecca W. Crotty in the Third Judicial District of Kansas.

After graduation, she worked as an associate attorney for John P. Hastings for a little over two years. In January of 2019, Megan started her own practice offering estate planning and adoption services.
